Laurie Bennett, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Bennett has helped people hear better for over 25 years. She has earned a reputation as a friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled audiologist. Audiology is a profession that encourages practitioners to adhere to best practices and evidence-based decision making. Dr. Bennett holds a Doctor of Audiology degree – the highest clinical degree in the profession. But it’s more than just a profession to her. Many of her biological family have suffered from hearing problems. She has personally witnessed the communication, social, and emotional consequences that hearing loss can cause. “I believe that all my patients deserve personalized, patient-centered, and compassionate care.”

Throughout her career, Dr. Bennett has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings in many areas of the United States. These have included clinical positions at large hospitals in Indianapolis and St. Louis, in hearing rehabilitation at the Hearing Society for the Bay Area in San Francisco, as the director of the hearing clinic at the University of Illinois, as an audiologist at an ENT practice in Battle Creek, and most recently as the regional professional education manager for an international hearing aid company.

Dr. Bennett and her husband, Clark, have lived in Portage for 14 years. “I am grateful to be living in beautiful southwest Michigan, where I enjoy bicycling, hiking, gardening, and relaxing on the beach!”
